New CT scanners let Schengen passengers carry up to 2 litres of liquids at Terminal 2
Prague Airport’s Terminal 2 (intra-Schengen) is enjoying smoother security lines after the rollout of computed-tomography (CT) scanners on 1 October. The advanced X-ray machines mean passengers no longer remove electronics or 100 ml bottles and may carry one container over 100 ml up to a combined two-litre allowance in addition to the standard liquids bag. Security-processing times have fallen by 30 % according to the airport operator, even as passenger throughput hits post-pandemic records.

Terminal 1 rules remain unchanged until CT equipment is installed in 2026, so travellers connecting between Schengen and non-Schengen flights must still respect the 100 ml limit on the return leg. Companies should update travel policies to reflect the differing rules by terminal and advise staff to purchase duty-free liquids after security when continuing to long-haul flights from Terminal 1.
