
Hong Kong’s Department of Health will set up an on-site vaccination station at Hong Kong International Airport from 24 April, offering free MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) jabs to some 70,000 airport workers. The emergency measure follows the confirmation of a workplace cluster involving three aircraft-maintenance technicians—one of whom had recently visited Indonesia—who were infectious while on duty on 3 April. Practical take-aways: assignees transiting or stationed at Hong Kong’s airport should verify two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine or laboratory proof of immunity. Employers may arrange on-site group bookings at the new booth; the vaccine is contraindicated only for pregnant women and severely immunocompromised individuals.
