Foreign residents of Wrocław and the wider Lower Silesian voivodship have a new way to solve paperwork headaches: weekend legalisation clinics run by the regional governor’s office. Today’s session (26 September 2026, 09:00–15:00) is the second pilot event this month, following strong turnout on 19 September. Held at the Department for Citizens’ Affairs and Foreigners on pl. Powstańców Warszawy, the clinics let card-holders collect ready residence cards, submit additional documents and clarify pending requests. No prior booking is required. Staff shortages and surging demand—fuelled by Ukraine-linked humanitarian arrivals and a boom in IT relocations—have pushed average waiting times for card issuance in Wrocław to 11 weeks. The regional administration estimates that each Saturday opening clears roughly 600 pending cases and frees weekday lines for first-time applicants. Employers’ groups such as ABSL Lower Silesia welcome the move, saying quick hand-over of residence cards is critical for accompanying spouses to access eID services and the labour market. Officials hint that if user satisfaction holds above 90 %, Information Saturdays will become a fixed feature through 2027, synchronised with the national MOS e-filing system. For now, foreigners are reminded to bring their passport, prior decision letter and a PLN 50 revenue stamp when collecting a card.
