With one month to go before the COP31 climate summit (9–20 November), France’s foreign ministry has posted a 13 October alert flagging significant security cordons, hotel shortages and traffic restrictions expected in the Turkish resort city of Antalya. French delegations, NGOs and corporate sustainability teams already accredited for the conference should anticipate police checkpoints on approaches to the Expo Center and potential vehicle bans in the old town. Air France and Turkish Airlines have signalled they will maintain regular Paris–Antalya frequencies but warn that short-notice slot changes are possible as Ankara reallocates air-traffic capacity for state flights. Event planners should check that invitation letters and badge numbers match passport data; last-minute discrepancies may delay entry at airport immigration desks, where peak-hour volumes are forecast to double. Accommodation is a particular concern: organisers estimate that 30 000 delegates will converge on a metropolitan area offering only 65 000 hotel beds. Prices for four-star rooms have already tripled for the summit period, and corporate travel managers are block-booking rooms in Alanya and Kemer, 90 minutes away by road. Staff should verify shuttle availability and build two extra hours into daily commutes. French companies sending executive spokespeople should liaise with the embassy in Ankara to obtain VIP lane access. Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has promised to streamline temporary-import procedures for exhibition materials, but carnets must be lodged no later than 25 October.
