Flag-carrier ITA Airways published a multi-point operational bulletin on 17 October that is highly relevant for companies moving staff to, from and within Italy this winter. • Public-Service-Obligation (PSO) flights between Sardinia’s Alghero airport and Milan-Linate will go on sale from Monday, 19 October, covering travel dates 25 October 2026 – 31 January 2027. The route secures essential connectivity for Sardinian businesses following the exit of a previous operator. • Because of “recent geopolitical developments” in the Gulf, flights to and from Riyadh remain suspended until at least 18 November, while the Dubai suspension is prolonged until 30 November. Travellers booked on the affected sectors may rebook or request refunds. • A runway-closure project at Naples International Airport in November will see Rome services replaced by bus transfers and Milan flights relocated to Salerno. ITA urges passengers to check itineraries and allow extra time. • Health-entry rules have tightened for passengers arriving from, or transiting through, the Democratic Republic of Congo or Uganda. In line with guidance from the Italian Ministry of Health, such travellers must complete an Ebola health-declaration form and present it to cabin crew. The bulletin underscores the breadth of factors—public-service contracts, infrastructure works, geopolitical risk and public-health controls—that mobility managers must track. Companies with operations in Sardinia will welcome the guaranteed Milan link, while those with Middle-East exposure need to adjust travel calendars. Employees transiting central Africa should be briefed on the documentation requirement to avoid boarding denials. ITA Airways says additional sales channels for the PSO flights will come online once technical updates are completed, and advises all affected customers to use its hotline (+39 06 85960020) or their travel agency for assistance.
