The concession guarantees vehicle availability during peak arrivals, addressing complaints from business travellers about long waits for onward journeys to the Savilahti business park.
Dedicated lanes outside the terminal separate contract taxis from pick-ups by non-affiliated companies, a model Finavia has tested successfully in Oulu and Rovaniemi. Relocation consultants told Global Mobility News that predictable ground transportation is a “soft-landing essential” for recruits unfamiliar with Finland’s regional cities.
Existing provider Kuopion Taksiykköset continues to serve alongside the newcomer, fostering competition without exclusivity. The three-year contract includes service-level targets on maximum wait times and driver English-language proficiency—both monitored via a QR-code passenger-feedback tool.
