CBP Clarifies Canadians Can Cross U.S. Land and Sea Borders With Enhanced IDs—No Passport or Visa Needed for Short Visits
CBP has re-emphasized that Canadians entering by land or sea may use enhanced driver’s licences, NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST cards instead of passports or visas for visits of up to six months. The clarification eases summer travel and keeps cross-border trucking fluid, but employers must still secure visas for Canadians who will work, study or live in the U.S.
