Eurotunnel Entry/Exit System still on hold for cars as France delays biometric rollout
France has postponed the extension of the EU’s new biometric Entry/Exit System to private cars using Eurotunnel. As of 8 November 2025 only lorries and coaches are processed; motorists still undergo standard passport checks until Paris authorises the next phase. The delay averts pre-Christmas congestion but leaves France facing strict EU implementation deadlines in mid-November and mid-January.
