Poland’s flag carrier has announced the launch of non-stop flights between Delhi and San Francisco starting 6 May 2026 – the first time an EU airline will link the Indian capital directly with America’s west-coast tech hub. Although the Boeing 787 service does not touch Polish soil en route, the route is configured to feed LOT’s Warsaw Chopin hub in both directions, creating one-stop itineraries between Poland and Silicon Valley. For Polish exporters of IT services – an industry valued at €16 billion annually – the schedule unlocks sub-24-hour same-day connections to India’s NCR region, where many Polish firms run shared-service centres. Conversely, Indian start-ups backed by California venture capital can now reach Warsaw with a single connection, reinforcing the city’s bid to become a CEE fintech gateway. LOT emphasised that the flight will be bookable under a Warsaw–Delhi–San Francisco through-fare, allowing corporate clients to combine legs without hidden surcharges. The carrier’s joint corporate deal with United Airlines means MileagePlus and LOT-Corporate points can be pooled, a plus for globally mobile staff. From a global-mobility perspective, the route offers an alternative to Gulf and European hubs struggling with slot congestion. Polish immigration advisers note a likely uptick in Indian nationals transiting Warsaw under the airport’s new short-stay transit visa exemption, introduced in February. Industry analysts see the expansion as part of LOT’s strategy to diversify beyond east-west transatlantic trunk routes and to leverage Poland’s growing position in global supply chains.
