Emirates Issues Customer Advisory, Extends Flexible Rebooking as Schedule Remains Reduced
Emirates has updated its travel-updates portal to confirm that it continues to operate to “over 100 destinations” on a reduced schedule and is offering complimentary date changes for tickets booked from 2 April through 31 May 2026. The latest advisory, timestamped 29 April at 11:30 Dubai time, outlines rebooking and refund options for travellers whose flights are disrupted and encourages passengers to keep contact details current in the ‘Manage Your Booking’ tool. While the carrier does not explicitly link the pared-down timetable to the Gulf security situation, it notes that operational plans may evolve “as we continue to monitor the situation,” a phrase mobility risk teams read as shorthand for regional instability. Customers booked to travel during the affected window can re-route to an alternative destination in the same region or obtain a refund. For corporate travel managers the advisory provides a formal mechanism to shift itineraries without incurring fare-difference penalties, easing the administrative load caused by rolling flight cancellations. Companies should instruct travellers to accept new flight offers promptly; unused legs in the same PNR will be auto-refunded if no action is taken. The update also reminds passengers headed to the EU of the new Entry/Exit System and reiterates UK requirements for Electronic Travel Authorisation, both of which affect UAE-based frequent flyers. HR teams should integrate these reminders into pre-trip briefings to avoid boarding denials at origin airports. Given the extended waiver window, organisations may wish to bring forward essential travel to before 15 June—the cut-off for complimentary date changes—and postpone discretionary trips until the carrier restores a fuller schedule.
