India Revises Visa Fees for Russian Nationals Applying in St Petersburg
The Consulate-General of India in St Petersburg has updated its visa tariff effective 8 April 2026 but published the revised schedule on 1 May. Single-entry tourist visas for Russian citizens now cost 4,160 RUB plus a 312 RUB ICWF levy (total 4,472 RUB). Multiple-entry visas rise to 12,480 RUB, reflecting currency volatility and higher processing costs. While the adjustment targets inbound Russian travellers, it matters to Indian tour operators rebuilding Rupee-Rouble corridor traffic after sanctions disruptions. The new fees align St Petersburg with Moscow embassy rates, reducing “visa shopping” between missions. Indian hotels and medical-tourism facilitators expecting Russian clientele should update quotations immediately and factor in the roughly ₹500 increase per traveler. Applicants must also note that biometric enrolment remains mandatory and that processing times average six working days. The Consulate reiterated that e-Visas remain suspended for Russian passport holders and that all applications require in-person submission through the VFS centre.
