Swiss Federal Council Adopts Regulations to Implement EU Migration & Asylum Pact
The Federal Council has approved the ordinances needed to apply the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact from 12 June 2026. The move harmonises Swiss border, asylum-processing and data-sharing rules with the rest of Schengen, accelerating screening procedures and introducing new biometric and solidarity mechanisms. Global-mobility teams must prepare for swifter decisions and stricter data exchange at Swiss borders.
