Jyväskylä restores full bus services as midsummer break ends on 21 June

Public transport in Central Finland’s largest city restarted at dawn on 21 June 2026 after a two-day Juhannus shutdown. Jyväskylä’s Linkki network had suspended all scheduled services at 13:00 on Midsummer Eve and operated no routes on Saturday, in line with long-standing practice across much of the country. The first Sunday departures rolled out of the depot at 05:15, restoring connections between suburban districts, the city centre and employment hubs such as the university and the Kankaan business park. City officials said the staged stand-down allowed drivers to take statutory rest during a period of extremely low commuter demand while helping the municipality curb fuel costs.
