Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP)-specific Express Entry draw on 22 June but published full details on 23 June. A total of 955 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued—by far the largest PNP draw of 2026—at a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off of 730. The previous PNP high this year was 681 ITAs. The move ends a 25-day pause in all federal selection rounds and signals renewed momentum as IRCC works toward its 465,000-permanent-resident target for 2026. For employers sponsoring provincial nominees, the lower CRS threshold provides welcome relief after several months of steep scores. Candidates who already hold a provincial nomination receive an automatic 600-point CRS boost, so virtually everyone in the pool with a nomination and at least 130 additional points was selected. Corporate mobility teams should review pending nomination cases and ensure that profile data—particularly proof of funds and language test validity—remains current. An ITA triggers a strict 60-day clock to lodge a complete electronic application, and missing police certificates or medicals can derail permanent residence plans. The record-size draw also hints that IRCC may offset lower temporary-resident levels by fast-tracking nominees who are already economically established. Provinces with strong employer-driven streams such as Ontario and British Columbia are likely to leverage this signal to request larger federal allocation quotas for 2027.
