Changchun Longjia Airport Adds Vladivostok and Seasonal Tourism Routes for Peak Summer
Northeast China is bulking up its international connectivity ahead of the peak July–August travel rush. Changchun Longjia International Airport announced on 6 July that it has optimised schedules with 17 airlines and opened a twice-weekly service to Vladivostok, Russia, effective 29 June. The airport will also intensify frequencies to Seoul, Tokyo, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, while domestic carriers add seasonal links to popular mountain and desert destinations such as Xining, Urumqi and Alatai. Airport operator Jilin Airports Group expects to handle 347.6 million passenger movements during the two-month “shuyun” (summer transport) period, up 2.6 percent year-on-year. Daily departures are projected to average 362 flights. The push reflects pent-up demand for outbound short breaks among Jilin residents and rising inbound traffic from Russian Far-East cities seeking cooler weather and duty-free shopping. For corporate mobility planners, the new routes reduce reliance on Beijing and Shenyang hubs when moving technical staff to the province’s expanding automotive and semiconductor clusters. Transit times between Germany-via-Seoul itineraries and Changchun production sites could shrink by four to six hours door-to-door. Cargo belly-hold capacity will also increase, benefitting time-sensitive components.
