Tourism Minister Gustavo Feliciano will open the 5th LGBT+ Turismo Expo at Hotel Unique in São Paulo on 21 July, according to an MTur notice published the previous morning. The fair brings together 1,200 professionals, 60 exhibitors, airlines and destination-marketing organisations focused on the lucrative LGBTQIA+ travel segment, valued by the UNWTO at US$200 billion globally. Feliciano is expected to highlight the government’s forthcoming National Strategy for Inclusive Tourism, which includes a fast-track accreditation for hotels adopting anti-discrimination protocols and a voluntary “Diversity Welcome” seal to be displayed on e-Visa approval screens. Panel sessions will cover silver-age LGBT travel, accessibility and corporate DEI benchmarks for business-event bidding. For companies the expo offers a preview of how Brazil intends to court high-spend niche segments ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 and the 2030 Gay Games bid. Airlines such as LATAM and GOL will unveil micro-influencer campaigns and enhanced training for ground staff. Destination managers from Rio, Recife and Florianópolis plan to roll out multilingual safety hotlines and to audit police protocols after last year’s widely reported harassment incidents. The minister’s presence signals that diversity metrics could soon influence federal tourism-marketing grants and airport concession scoring. Travel-procurement teams may wish to align internal policies with the emerging “Inclusão 360” standards to secure event permissions and sponsorships.
