Nice Côte d’Azur Airport Opens Walk-In International Vaccination Centre to Streamline Pre-Trip Health Compliance
Travellers passing through France’s second-busiest airport now have same-day access to yellow-fever, typhoid and other travel vaccines. The City of Nice confirmed on 22 July 2026 that its International Vaccination Centre, located landside in Terminal 1, is fully operational and accepting passengers without appointment every Wednesday from 08:30 to 10:30. The facility – run jointly by the municipal health department and the regional ARS – issues WHO “e-Carte Jaune” digital certificates that integrate automatically with France’s TousAntiVirus mobile app and the EU Digital Travel Health Pass. Business-traveller demand is expected to be strong, as the airport hosts direct flights to Abidjan, Dubai, Dakar and Tel-Aviv, all of which impose proof of specific vaccinations or prophylactic treatment. For global-mobility teams, the on-airport clinic cuts down lead times associated with securing appointments at overstretched hospital centres, enabling last-minute project deployments. The service also offers malaria-prevention counselling and can update routine adult immunisations required by some corporate medical providers. Fees mirror national public-health tariffs, and the centre uploads records to the French health-insurance portal, ensuring reimbursement for residents and EU-insured travellers. The Nice model follows similar airport-based clinics opened in Paris-CDG’s Terminal 2E and Lyon-Saint-Exupéry last year, reflecting a policy shift that treats vaccination as part of critical travel infrastructure. City officials signalled an intention to extend opening hours during peak Hajj and rugby-tour seasons if uptake warrants. Mobility managers should incorporate the new service into pre-assignment checklists and negotiate direct-billing arrangements where possible to streamline expense claims for frequent flyers.
