Low-cost carrier flydubai confirmed its participation at the inaugural Syria Travel Show (STS) in Damascus from 28 to 30 September 2026, highlighting the airline’s three daily flights to Damascus and daily service to Aleppo. Since resuming Damascus operations in June 2025 and adding Aleppo in July 2026, flydubai has become a key conduit for Syrian diaspora and traders based in the UAE. The STS appearance, endorsed by Syria’s Ministry of Tourism, signals growing confidence in Syria’s gradual tourism recovery and offers UAE travel companies early mover advantage in hotel development and ground-handling contracts. For corporate mobility managers, the expanded frequencies improve onward connectivity: Syrian executives can connect via Dubai to more than 125 flydubai and codeshare destinations, reducing transit times compared with Gulf rivals that still avoid Syrian airspace. The airline is also using the show to brief Syrian tour operators on the UAE’s five-year multiple-entry tourist visa, which many expect will underpin religious, medical and educational travel flows. Security considerations remain; flights continue to operate under strict overflight approvals and insurance premiums are higher than network averages. Nevertheless, flydubai’s presence underscores the UAE aviation sector’s role in reopening post-conflict markets and diversifying passenger revenue streams.
