Air France unveiled a trans-Atlantic expansion on 8 October 2026, confirming that it will launch three-times-weekly flights from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) to Nashville, Tennessee and San Diego, California for the Summer 2027 season. Both routes will be operated by 324-seat Airbus A350-900s featuring the carrier’s latest ‘Smart & Beyond’ business-class suites. For France-based corporates, the move opens direct access to two fast-growing U.S. tech and life-science clusters. Nashville hosts major European investment in healthcare data analytics, while San Diego is a key node in the biopharma supply chain that feeds R&D centres around Lyon and Strasbourg. Eliminating connections via Atlanta or Los Angeles could shave four to six hours off door-to-door itineraries for project teams and short-term assignees. Tourism boards on both sides of the Atlantic welcomed the announcement. The Greater Nashville Chamber expects a 15 % rise in French visitor numbers, and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur officials hope the reciprocal feed from their high-speed rail network will entice West-Coast Americans to secondary French regions. Air France said the flights would run from mid-May to late October but could become year-round if load factors exceed 80 %. The airline continues to rebuild its long-haul footprint after the 2024-25 fleet modernisation programme, which saw several A380 retirements. Mobility consultants note that the carrier’s willingness to open ‘non-hub’ U.S. cities reflects renewed confidence in premium-cabin demand now that corporate travel budgets have normalised. Tickets go on sale next week; early-bird round-trip economy fares start at €699, while fully-flexible business class is priced from €3 950. Companies using the AIR & RAIL corporate contract can apply BlueBiz points immediately, offering potential savings on exploratory visits by HR and mobility staff.
