Regional outlet *Der Erker* reports that from 12 to 15 October and again from 19 to 22 October, Austria’s motorway operator ASFINAG will close one lane in each direction on the A13 Luegbrücke for resurfacing. To protect work crews, Tyrol’s provincial government has issued an *additional* night-time driving ban for all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes between 21:00 and 05:00. The restriction applies in both directions between the Matrei-Steinach and Brenner-Nord junctions. Heavy goods vehicles (including buses and large camper vans) whose destination requires crossing the bridge will be turned around at police checkpoints set up near Pettnau in the west and Kufstein on the German border. Alternate routing via the B 182 may be permitted for scheduled coaches subject to police discretion. The measure compounds existing Brenner corridor traffic controls and could disrupt just-in-time supply chains linking Austrian manufacturers with northern Italian partners. Freight forwarders should pre-book slots on rail RoLa services or reschedule transits outside the curfew window. ASFINAG aims to finish work by 23 October, but the timetable is weather-dependent. Mobility managers are advised to monitor the Tyrol traffic service (Verkehrsmeldezentrale) for real-time updates and to brief drivers on enforcement hotspots.
