London Heathrow Airport has published six new Operational Advice Notices (OANs) dated 8 October 2026, warning carriers and ground-handling teams of significant airside and landside disruptions over the coming week. Key works include the full closure of the West Circular Road and associated traffic diversions, daytime weekend closures at Control Post 12, and an overnight power outage affecting Terminal 4’s cargo facilities. The West Circular shutdown is scheduled for Friday night through Monday morning, coinciding with the half-term getaway. Airport authorities advise freight operators to pre-book alternative routings; vehicles arriving without confirmed slots risk being held at off-site waiting areas, adding hours to delivery times. Airside, the Airside Tunnel—used by transfer buses and service vehicles—will close intermittently, and uncontrolled crossings at Echo and Foxtrot taxiways will be out of service. Business-aviation operators based at Signature and Jet Centre have been asked to reposition fuel trucks and crew transport before the window begins to avoid curfews. Heathrow says the works are part of its multi-year resilience upgrade, replacing ageing cabling and resurfacing high-stress taxi areas ahead of the winter season. Travellers using chauffeur services or parking at Terminals 3 and 5 should allow an extra 40 minutes; airline duty managers are urged to cascade the information to crew rosters and handling agents. While the notices primarily address operational staff, corporate travel managers should brief VIP travellers on potential delays and encourage use of rail links where possible. The airport has promised real-time updates via its ‘Team Heathrow’ app and a dedicated X (Twitter) feed.
