Startup migration platform Tern updated its real-time tracker at 14:34 AEST on 11 October, confirming that 462-visa caps remain open for high-demand markets such as Argentina, Austria, Chile and Greece. Only Brazil and a handful of South-East Asian partners remain ‘paused’ or subject to ballot systems. Unlike the Department of Home Affairs website—which can lag by up to 48 hours—Tern scrapes ImmiAccount every two hours and pushes email alerts the moment a cap opens or nears exhaustion. That speed is increasingly valuable: some countries’ allocations of just 100–500 visas have been known to sell out in under three minutes. For travel-season recruiters, adventure-tour operators and hospitality employers, the data suggests there is still time to secure staff for Australia’s peak summer period. Mobility managers preparing 462 applications should compile documents now and monitor caps during Canberra business hours when openings traditionally occur. Tern says 444 users have subscribed to its free alert service since July. The company is also piloting an auto-submission feature that files prepared applications within seconds of a cap opening, a move that could level the playing field for applicants in Europe and South America who face middle-of-the-night release times.
