The Polish Embassy in Dar es Salaam has announced that it will be closed on 14 October 2026 in observance of Tanzania’s national holiday marking Julius Nyerere Day. All visa, notarisation and legalisation services are suspended for the day; urgent matters will be handled only via the 24-hour duty phone (+255 742 713 423) or emergency email. The closure coincides with the peak of the East African conference season, and Polish business travellers planning last-minute trips to Tanzania, Burundi, Malawi or the Comoros—countries also covered by the mission—should adjust their schedules or submit applications either before close of business on 13 October or after 15 October. Mobility advisors remind companies that Tanzanian immigration offices remain open; however, Polish nationals needing visa-support letters or lost-passport assistance will face a 24-hour delay. For humanitarian cases requiring immediate evacuation clearance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Warsaw will coordinate directly with local authorities. Embassy closures on host-country holidays are common, but advance notices are crucial for expatriate assignments. HR teams are encouraged to consult the MFA’s global calendar to avoid project-critical disruptions.
