The Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Warsaw has issued a holiday notice confirming that the facility will be closed on 25 September and again from 1 to 6 October for China’s National Day celebrations. Applicants with appointments this week have been automatically rescheduled, and processing times for business (M), work (Z) and family-reunion (Q/S) visas will be extended by at least three working days. The shutdown comes during peak season for Polish corporate travel to China, with many manufacturers finalising year-end supply-chain audits and executives preparing for the Canton Fair’s autumn edition. Travel managers should build in extra lead time or divert applicants to the Consulate-General in Kraków, which remains open but warns of limited daily quotas. Chinese immigration authorities do not accept emergency submissions during the National Day period, meaning that even high-priority applications—such as APEC Business Travel Card renewals—must wait until at least 7 October. Freight-forwarding firms have already flagged the risk of technicians missing vessel-commissioning deadlines in Chinese ports. The Warsaw centre advises travellers who submitted biometrics before 22 September to track their status online and refrain from collecting passports in person until 26 September, when pick-up counters reopen. Courier return services will also be paused, potentially stranding passports in transit for several extra days.
