The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Paris updated its consular notice on 22 October, advising Czech travellers and residents to exercise heightened caution amid nationwide demonstrations. The advisory lists cities most affected—Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Nice, Lille, Bordeaux and Toulouse—and details specific curfews, some targeting minors, such as a 21:00–06:00 ban around Lyon’s Place Bellecour. The embassy also references transport disruptions ranging from urban bus diversions to temporary metro-station closures, urging travellers to consult the ‘Agenda des grèves’ website for real-time strike information. It flags additional mobilisation dates: 24 October and a cross-sector general strike on 5 November. Although the notice is aimed at Czech nationals, multinational employers with Czech employees on assignment in France must factor the embassy’s guidance into duty-of-care assessments. In some cases, employees may prefer to register with the Czech DROZD emergency-contact system rather than local consulates, a consideration for HR support teams. The embassy stresses that strikes and demonstrations are part of France’s socio-political landscape but notes an “increased level of violence” compared with previous years, underscoring the need for vigilance.
