An overnight update on the official granica.gov.pl portal shows that passenger and freight movements are still suspended at the Połowce and Sławatycze border posts, two of the smaller checkpoints on Poland’s frontier with Belarus. While major freight corridor Koroszczyn–Kukuryki remains open, the closures—first enacted in April—were reconfirmed in the 00:56 bulletin of 23 October. Poland introduced the measure after intelligence pointed to heightened hybrid-activity risks, including migrant-smuggling attempts orchestrated by Belarusian agencies. The decision channels traffic to Kuźnica-Bruzgi and Bobrowniki, increasing wait times there but allowing the Border Guard to concentrate resources and deploy reinforced fencing and surveillance. For tour operators running Białowieża Forest excursions and for Polish residents of Podlaskie voivodeship who regularly shop in Brest and Hrodna, the continued shutdown means lengthier detours via Terespol or Kuźnica. Transport firms note that the aggregate capacity of the open crossings is sufficient for current volumes, but warn that the situation could tighten if grain-export diversions from Ukraine funnel additional trucks northwards. Businesses with Belarus-based suppliers should confirm that CMR waybills specify alternative routes and ensure drivers are briefed on the latest e-queue registration requirements at Koroszczyn. No date has been set for reopening Połowce or Sławatycze; officials say they review the threat level weekly.
