Dubai International to roll out ticketless Salik e-wallet parking across all terminals
From 22 January 2026 travellers driving to Dubai International Airport (DXB) will no longer need paper parking tickets. Dubai Airports and Salik PJSC have signed a 10-year agreement that brings the road-toll operator’s e-wallet technology to DXB’s 7,400 paid parking spaces at Terminals 1, 2, 3 and the Cargo Mega Terminal. The system reads licence plates on entry and exit, automatically debiting the driver’s Salik account—mirroring the seamless flow motorists already experience at Dubai’s toll gates. Airport officials expect the move to cut exit-lane queues, reduce engine idling and eliminate an estimated 2.7 million paper tickets a year. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com)

For corporate mobility teams the upgrade translates into quicker kerb-to-check-in times, particularly for early-morning departures when parking bottlenecks often add 15-20 minutes. Chauffeur providers and rental-car companies can also consolidate parking-fee accounting through existing Salik dashboards, simplifying cost-recovery. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com)

The project is part of Dubai’s Smart City strategy, which already includes biometric ‘Smart Gate’ immigration lanes and single-token passenger journeys. Salik says talks are under way to extend the e-wallet to fuel stations and EV-charging points, hinting at a future in which one digital account covers the entire home-to-gate trip. Travellers should ensure their Salik balances are topped up before 22 January; those driving hire cars must link the vehicle plate to their Salik account or use the rental firm’s corporate wallet to avoid exit-lane delays and manual-payment surcharges. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com)
