Key provisions include quarterly information-sharing on decision-making times, joint governance meetings and the right for the commissioner to make unannounced visits to case-working hubs. Both parties must review the MoU at least every three years, but the commissioner retains the power to request amendments sooner if operational barriers emerge. For affected individuals the agreement promises faster escalation of unresolved status or compensation claims and greater transparency over digital-status conversion to eVisas. From a corporate-mobility perspective, employers who rely on historical Commonwealth talent—particularly in healthcare, construction and transport—should welcome any mechanism that accelerates the issuance of secure digital evidence of status, reducing right-to-work uncertainty. The MoU also requires the Home Office to publish anonymised performance metrics.
