The report also unveiled Project TRIDENT, an initiative led by the Central Police Bureau of Investigation (CBŚP) to counter rising risks of weapons smuggling from the east. The pilot programme will coordinate intelligence sharing with neighbouring EU states, provide specialised training and deploy mobile detection units at key road and rail crossings. Although aimed primarily at security threats, tighter controls will inevitably affect commercial road freight and cross-border business travel, especially on the busy eastern corridor used by logistics firms. For multinational employers the takeaway is added scrutiny: drivers and posted workers should expect longer wait times as new scanners and licence-plate recognition cameras are calibrated. Companies moving high-value goods may also see more random inspections until the system’s risk algorithms mature. MSWiA framed the measures as part of a broader “zero-tolerance” stance on illicit migration after the war in Ukraine pushed regional migration pressures to record levels. Border infrastructure—with 24/7 monitoring, drone patrols and heat-sensing fences—now stretches along 100 % of Poland’s land frontier, the ministry said. While the announcement reassures citizens about national security, global-mobility teams should monitor knock-on effects such as driver fatigue rules, possible queue surcharges and the need to adjust travel-time buffers in assignment budgets.
