Quota for ‘Guangdong Cars Visiting Hong Kong’ to double and scheme to cover all nine GBA mainland cities

From 25 July, the ‘Guangdong Cars Southbound’ scheme will cover all nine mainland GBA cities and double the daily Hong Kong urban-area quota to 200 vehicles. Authorities say traffic capacity has been ‘balanced’, but plan to consult LegCo later this year on tinted-window and safety-equipment rules. The move is expected to boost weekend retail but still excludes commercial fleets.
