According to airport sources, a pipeline-distribution glitch reduced Jet-A deliveries to BOS by 30 percent, forcing airlines to tanker extra fuel on inbound legs and cap some payloads. The constraint coincides with record holiday-weekend traffic and has already pushed average delay times past 90 minutes on Delta’s Boston-Atlanta and Boston-Detroit shuttles. For corporate travelers the disruption exacerbates an already tight summer-peak schedule. Travel managers should authorise proactive rebookings to New York JFK or Providence (PVD) and arrange ground transfers where time-sensitive meetings are at risk. Expatriate families connecting through Boston on home leave may face missed international connections and should secure hotel options in advance. The advisory also serves as a reminder to enrol mobile employees in airline waiver alerts. Delta’s notice waives fare differences for same-city changes, but only if rebooking occurs within the defined window; unsupervised travelers may miss that opportunity and incur higher costs later. While Massport expects normal pipeline pressure to return mid-week, carriers warn that schedule recovery could take 24–48 hours. Organizations with Boston-based assignees should track knock-on effects, including cargo backlogs that could delay unaccompanied household-goods shipments.
