Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) has issued an urgent notice advising that around 0.5 per cent of users have been unable to complete Job Ready Employment (JRE) payments, preventing application submission. The alert, posted on 16 July 2026, explains that some applicants are being looped back to the dashboard with the system falsely showing payment as already made. TRA says its technical team is running daily scripts to identify and clear stuck transactions “one by one each weekday” and recommends re-attempting payment on subsequent days if the error persists. The glitch is particularly problematic for international graduates on post-study 485 visas whose visa expiry dates are looming and who require a positive skills assessment to move onto a provisional skilled visa. For employers using the Job Ready Program to retain trade apprentices—especially in construction and hospitality—any delay can disrupt workforce planning in the lead-up to the busy summer period. Migration agents are advising applicants to download timestamped error screenshots and retain evidence of attempted payments in case bridging-visa coverage becomes necessary. While TRA has not provided an exact fix-date, it has apologised for the inconvenience and promised further updates via its news portal. Mobility teams should build extra lead-time into skills-assessment critical paths until the agency confirms full resolution.
