In a notice updated on 30 June 2026, the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit confirmed that one of its compulsory physical-aptitude tests for candidates will take place on 22 July 2026. The unit—responsible for Warsaw’s Chopin and Modlin airports as well as several inland checkpoints—has been authorised to hire up to 200 officers this year, including 80 on fixed-term contracts. July is the busiest month in the 2026 recruitment calendar, with knowledge tests on 8 and 16 July followed by interviews on 23 July and fitness tests on 15, 22 and 29 July. Successful applicants will enter accelerated basic training designed to familiarise them with the EU’s new Entry/Exit System and revised Schengen Borders Code before the systems go live later this year. The Border Guard says the drive responds to expected passenger-flow growth (LOT forecasts a record 12 million travellers through Chopin Airport in Q4) and to persistent secondary movements along the German and Lithuanian borders. New officers will reinforce document-fraud detection teams and mobile patrols focusing on employer inspections. For multinational companies the message is clear: airport checks are likely to become more thorough in the coming months. HR and travel teams should remind employees to travel with original work permits and ensure that multiple-entry Schengen visas remain valid for the projected length of stay. Candidates have been encouraged to submit applications digitally; however, delays on the Profil Zaufany platform (see separate story) mean early submission is advisable.
