Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH) and the Abu Dhabi Residents Office (ADRO) have launched a new fast-track package for medical professionals seeking the UAE’s 10-year Golden Visa, according to a statement carried by Emirates News Agency WAM on 24 July 2026. Under the scheme, doctors pre-nominated by the DoH can submit applications through the Yas Tasheel centre, with end-to-end concierge handling of Emirates ID, passport stamping, status amendments and family sponsorship. Fees are consolidated into two cash-less bundles, payable either by bank transfer or online, reducing the need for multiple in-person visits. Average processing time is expected to drop to about two weeks, provided applicants have completed visa-cancellation and medical-fitness steps. The initiative is part of Abu Dhabi’s drive to attract and retain high-skill talent in priority sectors. For hospitals and healthcare groups, the expedited pathway can shorten onboarding cycles for expatriate doctors and support retention by offering long-term residency security. Mobility managers should brief incoming clinicians on the new channel and budget for the one-off service fee, which also covers dependants. DoH officials said the package eliminates “intermediary bottlenecks” and aligns with broader federal efforts to digitise residency services. Applicants email proof of payment to a dedicated address instead of visiting counters, a convenience likely to appeal to busy specialists and their HR sponsors.
