China State Railway Group has already announced full refunds for tickets on services that may be cancelled at short notice. Long-distance bus companies serving Leshan, Yibin and Guangyuan are advising travellers to defer non-essential trips, while several logistics firms have triggered “force-majeure” clauses that allow delivery delays of up to 48 hours. For corporate travel managers, the immediate priority is duty-of-care tracking: ensure travellers in Sichuan register with their security provider and have downloaded the "NIA 12367" app for real-time border, health and weather alerts. Employers with expatriates in Chengdu’s Hi-Tech Zone should review their business-continuity plans and confirm whether staff residences lie within areas designated as “medium-risk” for mountain torrents. Practical tips: book flexi-tickets or leave one calendar day of buffer when flying in or out of Chengdu through 5 August; advise travellers to carry printed hotel confirmations because mobile signals in rural valleys are unreliable during storms. If itineraries include onward rail connections, check the 12306 website at 18:00 the evening before departure, when most schedule changes are published.
