Japan extends short-stay visa-waiver for Brazilian ordinary-passport holders to 2029
Tokyo has formally prolonged its 90-day visa-waiver programme for holders of ordinary Brazilian passports until 29 September 2029. The extension removes uncertainty for tourists, business travellers and airlines, and signals continued deepening of Brazil-Japan economic and cultural ties. Companies can plan multiyear travel without new costs, but paid work in Japan still requires the relevant status of residence.
