Warsaw-Modlin Airport has announced that its single runway 08/26 will be closed nightly from 23:59 to 06:00 local time between 22 and 25 September as part of scheduled asphalt resurfacing. The works were confirmed in a notice to airmen (NOTAM) and a traveller advisory on the airport’s website. Ryanair, the field’s dominant carrier, has retimed 34 departures to mid-morning slots and consolidated a handful of late-evening arrivals into earlier rotations. Passengers connecting onward from Warsaw Chopin or Katowice should allow at least five extra hours in itineraries. Because Modlin lacks an alternative taxiway-runway combination, the closure suspends all operations, including general aviation and medevac flights. Cargo operators have been offered limited slots at Łódź and Olsztyn-Mazury; time-critical automotive parts destined for central Poland will be trucked overnight from Poznań. For assignees based in Mazowieckie the impact is modest, but travel managers should confirm that travellers are booked on updated flight numbers and arrange ground transport, as replacement coach services to Warsaw city centre may run past midnight curfew. Airport authorities say the resurfacing is the last major step before the winter season and will extend pavement life by ten years, enabling the facility to bid for additional long-haul charter traffic in 2027.
