The Hunan General Station of Exit-Entry Border Inspection released its holiday forecast on 24 September, estimating that 62,000 passengers will pass through the province’s two international airports and Changsha’s rail port during the eight-day holiday—a 9.4 % increase year-on-year. The busiest periods at Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport are expected on 1, 3 and 6 October, between 11:00–15:00 and 19:00–22:00. Border police have arranged dynamic staffing and will coordinate with airlines to open additional counters when arrival processing exceeds 45 minutes. A six-language, 24×7 hotline (12367) will be promoted on flight information screens, providing assistance in Chinese, English, French, Russian, Japanese and Korean. The station is also piloting a “single-queue” system that merges foreign-passport and Macau/Taiwan resident lanes when demand is unbalanced—an approach already used in Shenzhen but new to central China. Travellers heading to UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan should be aware that airport shuttle buses may be diverted if rain warnings are issued. Given Changsha’s growing role as an auto-export hub, freight forwarders bringing in overseas technicians should schedule arrival during off-peak slots or apply for crew-fast-track letters to avoid missed handover deadlines.
