Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy issued a notice on 24 September that several core public digital-identity platforms—including CY Login, CY Notify, CY Pay and CY Sign—will be unavailable from 17:00 on Friday 25 September until 18:00 on Saturday 26 September. The temporary shutdown is required to install a major software upgrade to the Ariadne Core Gateway, the backbone that authenticates users across more than 300 e-government services, ranging from residence-permit renewals to social-insurance statements. Officials say the maintenance window was scheduled outside normal office hours to minimise disruption, but users who need to submit visa extensions, employment-permit applications or social-security documents are advised to act before 16:30 on Friday. Corporate mobility teams that rely on CY Login to file online work-permit or family-reunification applications should adjust internal deadlines accordingly. The ministry stresses that no data will be lost and that the upgrade will improve response times and pave the way for mobile-ID functionality slated for launch in early 2027. Although the outage is brief, it highlights the growing dependence of mobility processes on digital-government infrastructure. Employers may wish to maintain paper backups or plan filings ahead of future maintenance windows, which are expected to become more frequent as Cyprus modernises its systems in line with EU Single Digital Gateway requirements.
