Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed on 4 October that it will stage the inaugural Dubai International Electric Vehicle Exhibition and Conference—branded EV World 2026—from 10 to 12 November 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event will convene more than 300 global manufacturers, investors and policy-makers under the theme “Driving a Smart and Sustainable Mobility Future.” RTA Chairman Mattar Al Tayer said the conference is designed to cement Dubai’s status as a global test-bed for next-generation mobility solutions, aligning with the emirate’s Net-Zero 2050 public-transport strategy. Preparations include a cooperation agreement with China EV100 to attract a large delegation of Chinese automakers and battery innovators; promotional roadshows have also been held in Germany, Belgium and India to court exhibitors and secure bilateral investment meetings. Travel-industry analysts forecast a surge in corporate arrivals during the show, with Emirates and flydubai expected to add capacity on key European and Asian routes and Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism rolling out discounted five-year multi-entry tourist visas for repeat business travellers. Free-zone operators say interest in temporary project offices around the Trade Centre district has spiked 20 per cent in the fortnight since preregistration opened. For global mobility managers, the conference presents an opportunity to combine market-entry exploration with staff upskilling in EV technology. Early hotel and meeting-space bookings are advised, as COP28 experience shows that major sustainability-focused events in Dubai can tighten availability months in advance. The announcement underscores how thematic trade shows remain a cornerstone of the UAE’s strategy to drive high-value business travel and foreign direct investment, reinforcing the need for streamlined visa processes and robust MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) support services.
