The Czech MFA released an updated travel notice for Saudi Arabia on 7 October 2026 following a series of Houthi drone and missile strikes on critical infrastructure. The notice advises Czechs to travel to the kingdom only if strictly necessary and explicitly discourages movement within 80 km of the Yemeni border. Although transit through Saudi airports remains possible, the ministry cautions that sudden flight delays, diversions or air-space closures may occur. Global mobility teams should therefore build additional buffers into itineraries for executives connecting via Riyadh or Jeddah. Companies with projects in the eastern oil and gas corridor are urged to update shelter-in-place procedures and maintain contact trees for rapid communication. The warning underscores that debris from intercepted drones can pose secondary hazards, and photographing military sites or wreckage is prohibited under Saudi law. Travellers are encouraged to follow local media and heed any air-raid sirens. Given Saudi Arabia’s importance as a hub for Czech energy services firms, the advisory may influence insurance underwriting and business-continuity plans. The Czech Embassy in Riyadh remains operational and can provide limited assistance in emergencies; all travellers should register with DROZD before departure.
