Naples Airport operator GESAC has issued a passenger advisory after union FILT-CGIL confirmed a 24-hour national strike of EasyJet cabin-crew on Monday 16 October 2026. The walk-out will run from 00:01 to 23:59 and may lead to the cancellation or delay of up to 180 domestic and intra-European flights, chiefly at Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino and Naples Capodichino hubs. Under Italian law, carriers must operate certain minimum-service ‘guaranteed flights’, including at least one connection per direction on public-service routes such as Linate–Bari. EasyJet said customers booked on 16 October may change their travel dates free of charge or request a voucher. Ground-handling company Swissport anticipates longer queues at security as affected passengers re-book on alternative departures. The strike coincides with school half-term breaks in several EU countries and could disrupt corporate meetings and trade-fair traffic heading to the HostMilano exhibition. Travel-management companies recommend that businesses re-assign time-critical staff to airlines not involved in the protest or to high-speed rail where feasible. Airports have asked travellers to arrive at least three hours before departure and to monitor the Ente Nazionale Aviazione Civile (ENAC) website for the list of protected flights, expected 48 hours before the strike.
