Kuwait’s low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways has become the latest Gulf airline to add Prague to its network, announcing on 15 October 2026 that it will operate twice-weekly nonstop flights between Kuwait International Airport (KWI) and Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) from 17 December 2026 to 7 February 2027. Although limited in duration, the new link is strategically timed to coincide with the peak Middle-Eastern school break and the Czech capital’s famous Christmas-and-New-Year markets. By scheduling departures on two convenient weekday rotations (days of operation and flight times will be loaded in global distribution systems in the coming days), the airline is targeting both Kuwaiti families seeking a European winter break and Czech outbound tourists looking for warmer Gulf weather and onward connections to Jazeera’s growing South-Asian network. For Czechia, the route deepens the country’s connectivity with the Gulf at a time when business and leisure demand from the region is rebounding. Kuwaitis—who require a Schengen visa—represent one of the highest-spending traveller segments in Prague hotels; the direct service should shorten journey times by 3–4 hours compared with current one-stop options via Istanbul or Doha and could stimulate new demand among high-yield visitors. From a corporate-mobility perspective, the link offers Czech exporters faster access to Kuwait’s sizable construction and healthcare projects and gives Gulf investors a convenient nonstop to central Europe’s fastest-growing economy. Travel-management companies are already advising clients to secure Schengen appointments early, as the Czech consulate in Kuwait City traditionally faces a seasonal spike in applications. Aviation analysts note that Prague Airport has prioritised long-haul diversification since passenger numbers recovered to 97 % of 2019 levels this summer. Jazeera’s entry follows recent launches by VietJet (Hanoi via Almaty) and flydubai (resumed daily Dubai flights), underscoring the airport’s strategy of courting point-to-point holiday traffic while negotiations for year-round services with Kuwait Airways and Qatar Airways continue.
