Jazeera Airways Adds First-Ever Winter Service Between Kuwait and Prague

Kuwaiti low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways will, for the first time, keep its Kuwait–Prague route running through the colder months. According to an announcement published on 21 September 2026, the airline will launch twice-weekly flights from 17 December 2026 until 7 February 2027. In previous years the service had been confined to the summer timetable; extending it into the peak Christmas and school-holiday period is a clear vote of confidence in the Czech capital’s year-round appeal. The winter rotation will depart Kuwait International on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving at Václav Havel Airport Prague after a five-hour overnight sector. Jazeera will deploy 162-seat Airbus A320neo aircraft configured with a 12-seat business cabin and 150 economy seats. The schedule is timed to allow Kuwaiti leisure travellers to enjoy Prague’s world-famous Advent markets and to connect onwards to European ski destinations, while giving Czech exporters a direct cargo channel to the Gulf during the busy retail season. CzechTourism says the move supports its strategy of diversifying inbound markets beyond the EU and United Kingdom. Gulf visitors are high-spending and often travel in family groups; winter access is expected to boost hotel occupancy in January – traditionally one of Prague’s weakest months. For Czech companies, the flights shorten journeys to Kuwait’s growing construction, defence and petrochemicals sectors, which have been aggressively courting European suppliers. For global mobility managers the news means an additional non-stop option for assignees shuttling between Central Europe and the Middle East. HR teams should review travel policies to include Jazeera’s hand-luggage-only lead-in fares and ensure employees are aware of the airline’s visa-letter requirement for on-arrival entry into Kuwait. The expansion also underlines a wider trend: secondary Gulf carriers using narrow-body fleets to open point-to-point links with Central European cities, increasing route resilience and driving down average ticket prices.
