Cyprus Airways Adds Daily Larnaca–London Stansted Service for Summer 2027
Flag-carrier Cyprus Airways announced that it will launch a daily year-round service from Larnaca (LCA) to London Stansted (STN) on 23 April 2027, adding much-needed seat capacity on one of Cyprus’ most important business and VFR (visiting-friends-and-relatives) corridors. The new flight will complement existing Gatwick and Heathrow links operated by easyJet, British Airways and Wizz Air, giving corporate travellers based in the UK’s technology and life-sciences clusters around Cambridge, Essex and Hertfordshire a nonstop connection to Cyprus’ financial centre. Chief executive Thanos Pascalis said the route is part of a broader network strategy that also includes forthcoming Munich and Rome services. Stansted’s high proportion of low-cost and point-to-point traffic aligns with Cyprus Airways’ fleet of Airbus A220s, whose lower fuel burn allows profitable operation of thinner routes. Flight timings have been optimised for same-day meetings: departures from Larnaca at 08:50 arrive in Stansted at 11:30 local time, while the return sector leaves STN at 12:45, landing back in Cyprus at 18:15—well before the evening bank curfew for European transfers. For global-mobility managers, the additional connection reduces reliance on circuitous routings via Athens or Istanbul and creates new options for rotating expatriate staff between Cyprus-based shared-services hubs and UK headquarters. The service will also support the island’s rapidly growing tech-nomad and fintech communities, many of whose investors are located in London. Ticket sales opened today via the airline’s website and GDS, with introductory return fares starting at €149 including a 10 kg cabin bag. Stansted Airport’s rail link to Liverpool Street puts the City’s financial district within 50 minutes of arrival, while coach services to Cambridge and Oxford will benefit Cypriot academics and students. The route is expected to carry more than 180,000 passengers in its first full year, according to preliminary slot filings reported by Eurocontrol.
