Cyprus Airways adds daily Larnaca-London Stansted service to boost year-round connectivity
Cyprus Airways on 21 October 2026 revealed plans to inaugurate a daily, year-round service linking Larnaca International Airport (LCA) with London Stansted (STN) from 23 April 2027. The route—in addition to recently announced year-round flights to Munich and Rome—underscores the carrier’s post-pandemic growth strategy and reinforces the United Kingdom’s position as the island’s single most important origin-and-destination market for both leisure and corporate travellers. London remains a critical gateway for Cypriot firms ranging from financial services to shipping and tech start-ups that maintain back-office or client-facing operations in the UK. By adding a Stansted option to existing Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester links offered by competitors, Cyprus Airways is betting on the airport’s lower operating costs and rapid rail connection to the City of London to attract price-sensitive business travellers, diaspora traffic and tour operators packaging shoulder-season city breaks. The airline will initially deploy its 137-seat Airbus A220, offering 12 business-class and 125 economy seats, with an early-morning south-bound departure and an evening north-bound return designed to facilitate same-day meetings. Chief Executive Thanos Pascalis said the schedule “gives corporates the flexibility they have been asking for while opening Cyprus to weekend tourism from the UK outside the peak summer window.” For mobility managers the new service expands seat inventory at a time when legacy carriers continue to constrain capacity on Heathrow slots, helping to contain travel-budget inflation. Companies relocating staff to Cyprus—particularly under the island’s headquartering incentive scheme—also gain an additional one-stop link to North American connections via Stansted’s codeshare partners. Ticket sales opened immediately via the airline’s website, app and GDS channels, with introductory return fares starting at €119. Travel-policy teams should update approved carrier lists and prepare for possible adjustments to per-diem calculations once the service launches next spring.
