Indian Passport & Visa Centres in UAE to Switch From BLS to Al Hind on 1 July
Indian expatriates in the United Arab Emirates—now numbering more than 4.3 million—will soon file passport renewals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards and visa applications at brand-new counters. The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi has awarded its multi-year outsourcing contract to Al Hind Tours and Travels LLC, replacing incumbents BLS International and SGIVS Global as of 30 June. A transition window has been announced to minimise service disruption. Sixteen dedicated service centres are being rolled out across all seven emirates: six in Abu Dhabi (Al Khalidiya, Reem Island, Musaffah, Madinat Zayed, Ghayathi and Al Ain); two in Dubai (Bur Dubai and Dubai Investment Park); and further outlets in Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and the east-coast towns of Khor Fakkan and Kalba. Detailed fee tables, appointment rules, biometric requirements and helpline numbers will be published separately in the coming days.

Applicants who want extra support navigating the switch can tap digital concierge platforms such as VisaHQ, which already handles Indian passport renewals and UAE visa processing worldwide. Through its dedicated India page (https://www.visahq.com/india/) the service pre-checks paperwork, schedules the correct appointment slots and flags embassy bulletins as they are issued—useful safeguards while the Al Hind centres bed in.

From a mobility standpoint the change is more than an administrative footnote. Indian companies rotating staff through the Gulf frequently rely on outsourced centres for quick passport renewals and visa sticker transfers. HR teams have been advised to double-check booking links and courier addresses since legacy portals will close at midnight on 30 June. The embassy warns applicants to ignore social-media adverts circulating fake ‘priority slots’ and upfront payment demands. Al Hind has pledged to cap its service charge at AED 19 over the embassy’s mandated government fee, undercutting the current AED 28–33 range. Faster turnaround is promised through extended weekend hours and SMS push notifications. Corporate mobility managers say the presence of centres in industrial zones such as Musaffah and DIP should cut mid-shift travel for blue-collar workers needing emergency documentation. With the UAE hosting the world’s largest Indian diaspora, smooth outsourcing is critical. Any teething troubles could see backlogs spill over into July’s peak summer-leave season, so companies are front-loading renewals and counselling employees to keep digital copies of passports and OCI cards handy in case of last-minute travel.
