The closures were first imposed in March 2026 following security incidents linked to the Belarus-orchestrated migrant pressure campaign but had been subject to monthly review. Industry associations had hoped for at least a partial reopening ahead of the summer construction-materials surge, yet the renewed suspension indicates Warsaw is not ready to ease restrictions. Companies shipping goods from Poland to Belarus—particularly automotive parts and agri-food products—must continue to pre-notify Białystok or Lublin Customs Offices and secure convoy slots. Business travellers crossing privately should schedule via Terespol (passenger rail/road) or apply for the Belarusian fast-track lane at Koroszczyn. While the impact on overall trade volumes is contained thanks to rail alternatives, HR teams should warn posted workers that foot and bicycle crossings at Połowce are also closed, and that on-the-spot visa issuance at the border remains suspended.
