Routine visa, passport and legal-document services will resume on Wednesday 22 July. Brazil is home to roughly 40,000 Colombian nationals and is a major visa-processing post for third-country citizens bound for Bogotá. The two-day closure therefore affects mobility timelines for companies arranging Brazilian work permits for Colombian hires—original police-clearance certificates normally legalised at the mission must now wait until mid-week. Travellers needing emergency assistance can still call the embassy’s after-hours hotline (+55 61 3214-8900). For urgent humanitarian cases, the embassy can authorise a travel document at Brasília International Airport, but only after telephonic approval from the duty consul. Employers and relocation firms should adjust document drop-off schedules and brief employees about the holiday. The closure does not affect Colombian honorary consulates in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, which will operate normally.
