Cyprus strengthened its air links with one of Europe’s biggest hubs on Tuesday, as national carrier Cyprus Airways and SkyTeam member Air France formally activated a new codeshare agreement on the Larnaca–Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle (CDG) route. Under the deal—effective on 21 July 2026—Cyprus Airways’ daily flight CY 380/381 now also carries Air France flight numbers (AF 4849/4850). The arrangement gives Cyprus-bound passengers seamless access to Air France’s 200-plus onward destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas through single-ticket itineraries, through-checked baggage and reciprocal frequent-flier accrual. For Cyprus, the move comes at the height of the summer season and just weeks after June airport statistics showed a 4 % year-on-year decline in passenger volumes; officials hope better network integration will help reverse that trend. Business travellers stand to benefit most. Paris CDG is a major transfer point for multinational corporations with regional headquarters in both Western Europe and the Levant. The codeshare also dovetails with the government’s strategy of attracting high-value foreign companies and digital nomads by improving flight connectivity—one of the pillars of its "Vision 2035" competitiveness plan. From an operational standpoint, travellers should note that the service departs Larnaca at 07:55, arriving CDG 11:35, with the return leaving Paris at 12:45 and landing 17:05 local time. Ticket conditions follow the operating carrier’s rules, meaning Air France passengers booked on a CY-operated leg must observe Cyprus Airways’ cabin-baggage and fare policies. Travellers connecting beyond CDG should allow for the airport’s ongoing Terminal 1 refurbishment, which can add 15–20 minutes to minimum connection times. Market analysts say the agreement is a win-win: Cyprus Airways gains marketing reach on global distribution systems and corporate contracts, while Air France extends brand presence in the Eastern Mediterranean without deploying extra aircraft. If load-factors hold, the partners have signalled interest in expanding cooperation to seasonal Paphos-Paris flights or extending interline links to Air France’s North American gateways.
